PHYSIO IS MOST IMPORTANT MAN FOR PACESETTERS
GOOD to see my two darkhorses for League One going well. Both Russell Slade at Orient and Dean Smith at Walsall work incredibly hard on limited budgets and to be sitting with nine and seven points respectively from two games will give them a big lift.
I know they aren’t expected to stay there, but who cares? Now isn’t the time to worry about that.
As a fan of those clubs, you have to enjoy good times like this because you know there are bad times around the corner.
Both Russell and Dean will have started the season thinking ‘Let’s get points on the board early to see us safe later’. I’ve been there myself.
But when you win two out of two, you can’t help but dream. You think ‘Maybe we can get top half this season’.Then you win three and it’s ‘Well, maybe we are good enough for the play-offs!’
I think they are, but they’ll need luck with injuries. You know that with your best XI out,you can take anyone on and I bet the pair of them beat some big teams.
But teams like Walsall and Orient haven’t got the numbers. For them, the most important person at the club is thephysio.
