MY GILLS HAVE THE HUNGER

GILLINGHAM captain Adam Barrett believes the League Two champions have what it takes to cut it in League One.

The Gills have already exited the Capital One Cup and suffered two defeats in their opening two league games before this weekend but the 33-year-old is confident his side can turn it around.

“There will be blips along the way but we deserve to be here,” said the captain.

“We have the players and the hunger here to do well – we have got some who haven’t played at this level who need to find their feet. We are not worried about it at all.”
