SHRIMPS GET SET FOR TOON

-

MORECAMBE chairman Peter McGuigan has called on fans to fill the Globe Arena when they welcome Newcastle for their Capital One Cup second round tie.

McGuigan revealed the club will receive around £175,000 in TV revenue for the visit of the Premier League side next Wednesday.

He said:“We are playing host to a Premier League club and it is our biggest game since Wembley (the Conference play-off final in 2007) and I hope the people of the town help make it a great occasion.

“Newcastle are a team that play in front of 55,000 fans every week and that shows how far we have come.”
