HOMESICK DALE CAN MOVE BACK

-

CHARLTON boss Chris Powell has given homesick midfielder Dale Stephens the green light to move back up north – but only when a club pick up the phone and make an offer.

Bolton-born Stephens, 23, wants to live closer to his family and was disappointed not to move in last year’s transfer window.

And although Powell will allow him to go when the right club comes calling Stephens is ready and available for selection.

Powell said:“I’m mindful of the fact that he has suffered a little bit with homesickness. If anything transpires that might be right for him then we’ll look at it.”

BLACKBURN ROVERS’ star striker Jordan Rhodes is not for sale according to managing director Derek Shaw.

The 23-year-old scored 28 goals in the Championship last year after his £8m transfer from Huddersfield – where he scored 40 goals in 45 games.

But despite links with Arsenal and Newcastle Shaw insists no bids have been received for Rhodes.

“There have been no bids for him and we do not want to sell him,” he said.
