A CLOSE CALL BUT REFEREE SPOT ON

-

CHRIS Wilder would have gone home from the Kassam Stadium with mixed emotions after the U’s left it late to scrape a draw against the ten men of Wycombe.

Charles Dunne’s sending off shortly after half-time was the pivotal moment for the U’s with Danny Rose then finding the net straight away.

Referee Andy D’Urso made the right decision after Dunne’s high elbow clashed with Alfie Potter and the young left back was soon on his way.

Oxford’s unbeaten start to the season also owed much to Dave Kitson, who put in a visibly menacing display in the second half that was a real plus for the home support.

For Wycombe, it’s a point they would have taken before the start of play but Gareth Ainsworth’s side were left to rue the seven minutes of injury time and the late strike.

There were huge positives though in the displays of Dean Morgan and debutant Billy Knott for the Chairboys.
