DARREN BACK TO HIS BEST

BIRMINGHAM boss Lee Clark believes the real Darren Ambrose will stand up this season for the Blues.

Despite being transferlisted, and suffering from injuries for the majority of last season, Clarke insists the 29-year-old is still part of his plans.

“The Darren Ambrose of last year wasn’t the real Darren Ambrose,” Clark said.“For whatever reason – stop-start with injuries, he lost a bit of confidence.

“The real Darren Ambrose came back in preseason. He was brilliant. He came back in great shape, we saw all his ability.

“He got a little niggle in his groin, but he has recovered from that now.”
