HE started his ca­reer at Bris­tol City but Steven Gille­spie is just glad to be back in fa­mil­iar sur­round­ings – al­beit in Rovers colours.

The 28-year-old striker scored once in 12 league games for the Robins at Ash­ton gate be­tween 2004 and 2006.

But af­ter sign­ing for the Pi­rates un­til the end of the sea­son, the for­mer Fleet­wood for­ward is keen to make up for lost time.

“I am re­ally pleased. As soon as the call came I was re­ally ex­cited, and I am glad to get it all signed and be back in Bris­tol,” he said.

“I am look­ing for­ward to play­ing first team foot­ball, and it won’t take me much to get up to speed.”
