ROBBO JUMPS AT TOWN CHANCE

-

GREGOR Robertson says he was more than happy to answer Alan Knill’s emergency call as strugglers Northampton continue to swell their ranks.

Left-back Robertson has signed a contract until the end of the season after being released by Crewe.

And having previously worked with Cobblers assistant boss Knill at Rotherham, the 30-year-old Robertson is ready to help out.

“The lads all seem really good and there’s a good atmosphere here,” he said.

“I’ve worked under Alan before, he’s a good coach and I’ve heard good things about Chris (Wilder the new boss).

“Alan rang and asked me if I’d like to come down and help the club out of the position that they’re in and I was happy to do so.”
