COOPER’S BACKING BARMBY

COLIN COOPER believes Hartlepool loanee Jack Barmby has a big future ahead of him following his impressive spell at Victoria Park.

Barmby, on loan from Manchester United, scored Pools’ winner against Morecambe on Easter Monday and boss Cooper insists they have been lucky to have him.

“Jack proved the reason why he’s a Manchester United player and we’re grateful to have him,” he said.

“When he realises the need to ally the ability he has with what he needs to do when he hasn’t got the ball, then I’m sure he’ll have a very fine career.”
