DERRY NEEDS TO REBUILD

WELL done to my old player Shaun Derry. Just a few weeks ago, his Notts County side were seven points adrift at the bottom of League One. They’d taken a couple of beatings and things looked very bleak.

I’m delighted he managed to keep my old club up and hopefully now he can build something that will see them pushing at the other end.

He’s going to need support from his chairman because they do need to invest in new players. An overhaul is needed.

But that’s all part of the learning curve and, after this season, Shaun should be ready for anything that’s thrown at him. He’s done a great job.
