Born: Lowestoft 1955 (Age 58) Playing career: A versatile defender, Money started his career at Division Four Scunthorpe, becoming captain at 20. He then moved to Second Division Fulham in 1977 where he again became skipper and helped them r eturn to the second tier following r elegation. Signed by First Division champions Liverpool in 1980, Money made 14 appearance­s for the Reds and won a European Cup winner’s medal in his first season, but was sold in 1982 following the arrival of Mark Lawr enson. He then signed for newly-promoted Luton, helping them stay in the top-flight, before spending two seasons with Portsmouth. Money spent the final five years of his car eer back at Scunthorpe, twice reaching the Division Four play-offs before retiring in 1990, aged 35. He also made one appearance for England B. Managerial career: A UEFA Pro licenced coach, Money started his career as a youth coach at Aston V illa in 1988, leaving to manage Scunthorpe in 1993. He stayed for 18 months before joining Nottingham Forest as assistant to Frank Clark, helping the club finish thir d in the Premier League and qualify for Eur ope. After a similar stint at Man City, he became head of Coventry’s academy, then spent a spell as first-team coach under Roland Nilsson in 2001. In 2003, Money joined Swedish giants AIK Stockholm, finishing fifth befor e leaving to join strugglers Vasteras and saving them fr om relegation. A move to Australia with Newcastle Jets then br ought a fourth place finish in the A-League, followed by two years at Walsall which brought a League Two title in 2006-07 and a promotion push the following year. After a spell as academy dir ector at Newcastle, Money joined Luton in 2009, leading them to second place in the Conference and a play-off final defeat before departing in 2011. He then joined Cambridge, winning the Confer ence play-off final and FA Trophy double last season.
