FULL-BACK DUO VITAL FOR U’S

-

OXFORD United are confident of retaining the services of defenders Joe Riley and Tareiq HolmesDennis until the end of the season, assistant boss Derek Fazackerley has said.

The full-backs are due to return to respective parent clubs Bolton and Charlton when their loans deals expire next month.

But as Michael Appleton’s men battle away in League Two, the U’s are unwilling to lose half of their backline.

Fazackerley said:“I’m certain if you asked the two players, their mindset would be to play here for the rest of the season. They’ve been valuable members of the squad and we’d like to feel that we could keep them.”
