IN-FORM Mid­dles­brough goal­keeper Dimi Kon­stan­topou­los has ex­tended his con­tract with the club af­ter keep­ing 15 clean sheets in 29 games this sea­son.

The terms of the deal are undis­closed but Boro boss Ai­tor Karanka re­vealed the 36-year-old has been a rev­e­la­tion since join­ing the club from AEK Athens in 2013.

“It’s great news for ev­ery­one,” he said. “Dimi is the kind of player you want in your squad.

“He was the third goal­keeper in the squad when we came here and now he is num­ber one. He has done re­ally well. He is a very im­por­tant mem­ber of our squad on and off the pitch.”
