O’BRIEN’S A REAL AID FOR LIONS

- By Chris Dunlavy

MILLWALL’S Aiden O’Brien admits he is as surprised as anyone about his level of versatility.

The 21-year-old Irishman grew up leading the line as he graduated through youth team football.

But O’Brien admits work on the training ground has shown there is more to his game than he realised.

“I always thought I was an out and out striker but the coaching staff have made me believe that I can play in any of the forward positions,” he explained.

“Throughout my career, I was always a number nine but now I can be effective getting down the wings or in behind the striker and that is suiting me really well.”
