DAN’S THE MAN WHILE REID IS MISSED

THIS was a big game for two sides desperate to secure a play-off spot as the season enters its decisive phase.

And there was no doubting who came out on top. Daniel Nardiello has always scored goals at this level and so it was a strange statistic to see he had notched only one goal away from the JD Stadium this season.

Come May, David Flitcroft may look back on his pre-match chat with the big striker as one of the pivotal moments of the campaign if it inspires Nardiello to go on a scoring spree away from home. As pleased as Bury will be, this was a shock to the system for Plymouth.

While Nardiello emphasised how important he can be to the visitors Reuben Reid looks an even more vital cog in the Plymouth promotion push in his absence.

John Sheridan needs his other strikers to step up and fill Reid’s boots if his side are to bounce back from this defeat and go on another run, with time ticking.
