SKIPPER MCMAHON HAD TO GO
BLACKPOOL have revealed captain Tony McMahon jumped ship last month and felt they had no choice but to let him join Bradford on loan.
The 29-year-old rightback had made 33 appearances for the Tangerines this term, until completing a surprise shortterm switch to Valley Parade.
And Blackpool assistant Alan Thompson said: “Tony came into us and asked to leave, that showed he wasn’t on board so we let him go.
“What can you do when your captain is doing that? It’s unusual to have your captain asking to leave but that’s Tony’s decision.
“I assume he has one eye on earning a deal at Bradford – his contract is up.”
