PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL ON THE MENU

-

THEY say too many cooks spoil the broth, but at Watford the opposite has happened – too many cooks get promotion.

Four managers have been tried their recipes in the Hornets’ dugout this season – as Giuseppe Sannino, Oscar Garcia and Billy McKinlay all came and went but Slavisa Jokanovic has stayed for the main course. All four added their salt and pepper into the mix that is Watford’s promotion, through either buying the players or amassing the points that have got them up.

Jokanovic’s side looked steady throughout against a quality-stricken Brighton team and fully deserved the three points that puts Premier League football back on the menu.

He has a side ready for the big table of English football – Troy Deeney in particular eats up goals, and it was no different here.

Number one on Chris Hughton’s shopping list this summer: a striker. The Seagulls were low on confidence and woefully lacking in goals.
