Hot-shot Kev always used to make Mark!

-

STRIKER Kevin Phillips may have hung up his boots after a goal-laden career, but he’s still keen to clear up one thing – his middle name isn’t Mark!

The former England forward made his point when penning the foreword for the new biography of his former Watford and West Brom team-mate Paul Robinson, ‘Robbo – Unsung Hero’.

The 41-year-old said: “Oh and by the way I do not have a middle name, so where this ‘Mark’ came from I will never know, as none of my relatives are called Mark but it is used everywhere: Wikipedia, Sky Sports Football Yearbooks, Birmingham City – The Complete Record and Birmingham City – Modern Day Heroes.”

Meanwhile, Phillips, now a coach at Leicester, received the prestigious Sir Tom Finney Award at last Sunday’s 10th annual Football League Awards. It’s presented to a player who has had an outstanding career in the League.
