BIRMINGHAM are eyeing a move for Swindon goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, who is out of contract at the end of next month.

The 24-year-old has so far resisted signing an extension to stay at the County Ground and is attracting plenty of interest from the Championship.

The former Fulham and Crystal Palace shot-stopper has been playing for Swindon since 2012 and is rated as the best goalkeeper outside the top two divisions.

Swindon are pushing for promotion to the Championship via the play-offs but Foderingham could move on even if they are successful at Wembley.

The former England under-19 international has clocked up over 150 league appearances for the Robins.

Scouts have been taking a close look at his progress and it would appear clubs will make a move in the next few weeks.

Birmingham are among the frontrunners to land him as Gary Rowett looks to improve on his squad at St Andrew’s.

Nottingham Forest are another club interested in him with Karl Darlow linking up with Newcastle United in time for the start of next season.

Wigan are another club who have been keeping tabs on Foderingham but that could be in doubt now they have been relegated to the third tier. CHARLTON have joined the list of clubs who are interested in signing Portsmouth attacking midfielder Jed Wallace this summer.

Wolves, Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday are also keen on the 21year-old Pompey leading scorer. NORWICH are leading the race to land Northampton’s highly-rated striker Ivan Toney when the transfer window opens.

The 19-year-old hitman appeared set to leave the club at the end of last year but a switch to Wolves fell through at the last minute.

He was poised to complete a loan switch with a view to a permanent deal in January just before the emergency loan window closed for business when Wolves pulled out.

Toney’s goal tally for his home-town club has reached double figures this season and scouts have been watching him on a weekly basis.

The Cobblers are believed to rate Toney at around £500,000 and would also want a sizeable percentage of any future profit before agreeing to sell.
