BIRMINGHAM City are keen on a permanent deal for Italian international midfielder Diego Fabbrini, after he spent a spell on loan with the Blues.

Fabbrini made five appearances for the Blues after joining in March and has now returned to parent club Watford.

But Birmingham boss Gary Rowett is hoping the 24-yearold will return on a permanent basis later this summer.

The ex-Empoli and Udinese ace, who was capped by his country against England in August 2012, is under contract at Watford until 2017.

But following promotion to the Premier League it seems unlikely that he will have a future with the Hornets, where he has made 23 appearances.

He was one of seven players to join from Udinese and was sent out on loan to Millwall earlier in the season but struggled to get a game after the sacking of Ian Holloway.

The Hornets recalled him before immediately dispatching him to St Andrews.

Rowett is set to speak to Watford in the next few weeks to see if a deal can be thrashed out and is keen for Fabbrini to return to the Midlands. NOTTINGHAM Forest winger Michail Antonio is a summer target for West Brom boss Tony Pulis who is planning an overhaul of his squad.

The 25-year-old wants to play in the Premier League and Pulis has had scouts watch him a number of times. BLACKBURN Rovers striker Rudy Gestede looks to be spoilt for choice when it comes to finding a new club to play for this summer.

The 26-year-old looks set to leave Ewood Park after scoring 22 goals this season and is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs.

Hull City, who had a bid knocked back in January, and Swansea City, who also failed to sign him in the New Year, are still both interested in a deal.

Sunderland and Aston Villa have also registered an interest in the Benin international, who is rated at around £10m.

Gestede, who was signed from Cardiff in January 2014, still has another two years left to run on his contract but Blackburn are resigned to him leaving.

West Ham and Crystal Palace are also both interested and Gestede is known to be keen to live in the London area.
