FULL-TIME DELIGHT FOR DEMI

ENGLAND U19s goalkeeper Demi Lambourne is set to benefit from a government scheme that will allow her to train on a full-time basis with club side Oxford United as well as continue with her education.

Full-time contracts are few and far between at Women’s Super League 2 clubs, but the 19-year-old has been nominated for Sport England’s Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme, effectively giving her just that.

She said:“It will allow me to be the best player I can be by meaning that I can focus on both full-time training and my education. It’s a good option for plenty of women’s footballers.”
