THE simple fact is that goals win matches – and Barnsley striker Marley Watkins admits he must quickly find his clinical edge at Oakwell.

Watkins, who signed from Inverness Caledonian Thistle over the summer, missed a penalty against Scunthorpe in midweek and with a number of other Tykes marksmen breathing down his neck, the 24-year-old is keen to start finding the net.

“It was a shocking penalty,” said Watkins. “I need to be more clinical and missing a penalty didn’t help.”

Barnsley won 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw against the Iron in the Capital One Cup.
