SAUNDERS GLAD TO GET NOVAK

PATIENCE is a virtue and Chesterfield boss Dean Saunders believes playing the waiting game helped him secure Lee Novak on a season-long loan.

Novak has joined from Birmingham and, with plenty of Football League pedigree, Saunders is convinced the 26-year-old could be the missing piece of the puzzle.

“I’ve been monitoring the situation regarding Lee since the day I arrived here,” said Saunders.

“I knew I had to wait until after the first couple of games before other managers showed their hand about their squad.

“Lee can only add to what we’ve got – he’s got a great attitude and gives us options.”
