IVAN AND COBBLERS REUNITED

IVAN TONEY has not said goodbye to Northampton just yet after his new club Newcastle United were drawn against the Cobblers in the Capital One Cup.

The 19-year-old barely missed a beat at Northampton last year, appearing 44 times and scoring ten goals – and Newcastle liked what they saw after signing the striker on a long-term deal.

Toney could now make his Newcastle debut against the Cobblers at St James’ Park.

“For some weird reason I just thought it might happen,” said Toney. “When we got pulled out, my phone just went crazy with messages and Twitter.

“It’s a great draw for me, against the club I started at.”
