NATHAN: I OWE YOU, BOWYER

BLACKBURN striker Nathan Delfouneso insists his maiden goal for the club will be the first of many.

The 24-year-old was released by Blackpool in May, but was given a oneyear deal by Gary Bowyer.

The former Aston Villa striker opened his account in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup defeat to Shrewsbury, and Delfouneso hopes to prove Bowyer was right to take a chance on him.

“I wanted to get my first goal as early as possible and I’m happy with that,” he said. “But it’s only a start. I want to score more now.

“I’m really grateful with the opportunity the gaffer has given me and I’ve got to repay him with goals.”
