Hammer horror as Tevez returns to haunt the Blades
SOMEONE at Sky Sports (a Sheffield Wednesday fan?) appears to have a warped sense of humour – they’ve stuck a massive Carlos Tevez poster up outside Sheffield United!
The billboard is one of those produced by Sky to celebrate their 23 years of coverage of the Premier League, but it’s not likely that Blades fan will see the funny side.
Back in 2007, Tevez scored the winner for West Ham against Manchester United on the last day of the season, condemn- ing Sheffield United to relegation. The giant billboard appears to show him celebrating that goal.
Tevez was part-owned by West Ham and businessman Kia Joorabchian's Media Sports Investment (MSI) company, an agreement which breached Premier League rules. Yet the Hammers weren’t docked points.
In 2009, an out of court settlement was agreed which saw West Ham pay the Blades £20m in compensation for the relegation.
