U’S HAPPY TO LAND GARVAN

COLCHESTER have bolstered their midfield with the signings of Owen Garvan and Callum Harriott.

Garvan, 27, was released by Crystal Palace in the summer and has signed a deal until January, while 21year-old Harriott has joined on loan from Charlton until the new year.

And Colchester boss Tony Humes believes Garvan’s experience of playing more than 80 times for Palace in the Premier League will prove invaluable to his side.

“Owen will certainly add to the quality we already have in the squad,” he said.

“It’s fantastic that we have been able to get him here and we’re confident that he will fit in extremely well.”
