CLASH OF THE TITANS LIVES UP TO BILLING

-

NEW season, same old crazy Championship.

The two best sides in the opening few weeks of the season met at Portman Road and produced a barnstorming 90 minutes which had the excitement, controversy and tension you come to expect from the second tier.

For the most part, Brighton were as bright as their fluorescent yellow shirts; deadly on the counter attack, tough to break down and scampering around their opponents at every opportunity.

Ipswich, the league leaders going into the game, were woeful in the first half.

But huge credit for that must go down to Chris Hughton whose set his side up in the mould of his good friend and opposite number, Mick McCarthy.

In the end it was the Seagulls who flew away with the three points after a pulsating clash in Suffolk.

Bur don’t be surprised if both of these sides are still in the promotion mix come May.
