POMPEY ARE FLYING HIGH AT LAST

IT SHOULD have been an early-season clash between two promotion challengers but after this game it’s only Portsmouth who look like continuing as one of the early favourites in League Two.

After two years of disappointment, Paul Cook looks like he’s finally got a side to back up the pre-season promise and in Matt Tubbs a striker who has the firepower to lift Pompey back up the Football League.

For Luton, another goal conceded late on and more disappointment as John Still’s new-look side need to gel quickly in order to keep pace with the league’s front runners.

They were early season favourites to challenge at the top end of the table but currently find themselves languishing down in 22nd in the table.
