ARMSTRONG IS A MASTER STROKE
THE recruitment of Adam Armstrong is proving to be a master stroke by Tony Mowbray.
He looked the most potent striker in the first half of this game and did not allow a series of missed chances get to him. His pace and willingness to keep working is a real bonus and he took his goal superbly well just after the half-time break. Mowbray will have been desperately hoping for a second as his young strikers continued to push forward to real abandon, but – crucially – goalkeeper Lee Burge was also on good form and managed to make two vital saves in the second half.
Chesterfield had one or two periods where they looked threatening but their rearguard just could not cope with the home side’s pace in the final third.
