POINTS PROVEN FOR PROMOTION

-

Leyton Orient left it late to take a point after an entertaining game but both teams will have left believing they’ll be able to mount a sustained promotion push.

The visitors looked an immediate threat, playing in a quick-passing style that found plenty of opportunities in among a rather pedestrian Orient midfield.

Matt Bloomfield’s goal was a scrappy one but Wycombe deserved their lead. Jay Simpson’s leveller set up an intriguing final 20 minutes, but Orient can have no complaints after leaving it so long to come alive.

The result ended the O’s 100 per cent home record and the Chairboys can no longer boast of not conceding a goal on their travels this season, but both teams will come away with a sense of satisfaction.
