WOOD IN LOAN STAY AT...’WOOD

RICHARD Wood admits he’s delighted to get away from Rotherham for a month after joining Fleetwood on loan.

The 30-year-old defender joined the Millers last summer, but made just eight appearances last season and spent loan time at Crawley.

“I’m just looking forward to playing now and getting some matches under my belt,” said Wood.“It’s been frustrating not being involved at Rotherham, but this is an ideal opportunity for me at Fleetwood.

“It’s been a quick turnaround, but I’ve been expecting or waiting for this to happen – having not been involved at Rotherham – so have been looking to get out on loan.”
