2004-08 A re­cur­rence of the in­jury ruled Ed­wards out for the first six months of

his Wolves ca­reer, but he re­cov­ered to play 111 times over the next three sea­sons. How­ever, a cou­ple of knee lig­a­ment in­juries led to the de­fender miss­ing all but eight games of the 2007-08 cam­paign and he was placed on the trans­fer list by Mick McCarthy in 2008 2008-11 Signed by Ian Hol­loway’s un­fan­cied Black­pool, Ed­wards played 26 games as the Tan­ger­ines fin­ished sixth in the Cham­pi­onship and won

a fairy­tale pro­mo­tion to the Premier League, beat­ing Cardiff 3-2 in the play-off fi­nal at Wem­b­ley. He then made two top-flight ap­pear­ances be­fore go­ing on loan to Nor­wich and help­ing the Ca­naries fin­ish run­ner­sup in the Cham­pi­onship. 2011-15 Re­leased by Black­pool in May 2011, Ed­wards played 18 games for Barns­ley and helped keep the Tykes in the Cham­pi­onship. He then spent the 2012-13 sea­son out on loan –first at Fleet­wood and then at Shrews­bury – be­fore re­tir­ing in Oc­to­ber 2013, aged 30. He now coaches the Un­der-18s at Wolves.
