2004-08 A recurrence of the injury ruled Edwards out for the first six months of

his Wolves career, but he recovered to play 111 times over the next three seasons. However, a couple of knee ligament injuries led to the defender missing all but eight games of the 2007-08 campaign and he was placed on the transfer list by Mick McCarthy in 2008 2008-11 Signed by Ian Holloway’s unfancied Blackpool, Edwards played 26 games as the Tangerines finished sixth in the Championsh­ip and won

a fairytale promotion to the Premier League, beating Cardiff 3-2 in the play-off final at Wembley. He then made two top-flight appearance­s before going on loan to Norwich and helping the Canaries finish runnersup in the Championsh­ip. 2011-15 Released by Blackpool in May 2011, Edwards played 18 games for Barnsley and helped keep the Tykes in the Championsh­ip. He then spent the 2012-13 season out on loan –first at Fleetwood and then at Shrewsbury – before retiring in October 2013, aged 30. He now coaches the Under-18s at Wolves.
