TEDDY TO HELP BEN PROGRESS

-

BEN Kennedy has penned an improved three-year deal at Stevenage and chairman Phil Wallace is adamant there is no-one better for the youngster to learn from than boss Teddy Sheringham.

Striker Kennedy, 18, returned from hip surgery in the summer to net two goals in four games prior to the weekend, leaving Wallace stunned.

“The fact that Ben is playing Football League games again just 11 or 12 weeks post-op is amazing in itself,” he said. “At 18 he will no doubt have his ups and downs, but we think he can learn a lot in the position he plays from Teddy and we’re looking forward to seeing him improve.”
