NEW OWL JOAO HAS SOME BIG TARGETS
LUCAS Joao is not short of ambition, targeting promotion with Sheffield Wednesday and a place in the Portugal squad at Euro 2016.
The 22-year-old striker joined the Owls this summer and put pen to paper on a four-year contract.
And Joao – who has been named in previous international squads but is still yet to win a cap – is hoping to be on the plane to France next summer.
“It is a possibility for me and I just have to do my job here,” he said.“That is to score goals and help the team get the objective of reaching the Premier League.
“If this happens, I will be there.”
The youngster, though, admits he is still adjusting to the culture shock after arriving from Nacional – with the help of team-mate Jose Semedo and Portuguese manager Carlos Carvalhal.
“The difference about the Portuguese league is that here it is a lot more competitive with more intensity in the game,” he added.
“I just want to play. I want to get on the pitch, score goals and make people happy. I feel the passion.”
