WINGER LLOYD TO SHINE AT BARNSLEY

-

BARNSLEY boss Lee Johnson is excited about the potential impact loan signing Lloyd Isgrove can make.

The 22-year-old has made the switch from top-flight Southampton to Oakwell until January.

Isgrove made his Premier League debut away to Liverpool last season and ended the campaign playing regular Championship football on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.

So Johnson believes he has pulled off something of a coup by bringing in the tricky winger, who made his debut for the Tykes in last weekend’s home defeat to Fleetwood.

“Lloyd did well against Fleetwood,” said Johnson. “He’s only small but he’s tenacious and passionate with some speed and some quality. He was a part of almost all our good play.

“We needed another winger in the ranks. It was good to get him in and we appreciate that from Southampton. It was good of him to come as well because he was in the Championship last season.

“He was about as experienced a winger as we could get and he’s only 22.”
