KARANKA DRAFTS IN SOME SOLA POWER

MID­DLES­BROUGH boss Ai­tor Karanka has bol­stered his at­tack­ing op­tions with the loan sign­ing of Ath­letic Bil­bao striker En­rique Sola.

The 29-year-old, known as Kike, has scored three times for the La Liga out­fit this sea­son and joins Boro for the re­main­der of the cam­paign.

Boss Karanka said:“He’s bring­ing us some­thing we don’t have.

“He’s an­other striker, he’s a se­cond striker or some­times num­ber ten. His skills are dif­fer­ent and he can play English foot­ball be­cause he is strong.”

Mean­while, League One high-fly­ers Wal­sall have been dealt a blow af­ter Manch­ester City re­called mid­fielder Ge­orge Evans from his loan spell at the Bescot Sta­dium.

The 21-year-old, who ini­tially joined the Sad­dlers on a 28-day deal in Oc­to­ber, had scored four goals in 16 ap­pear­ances and ex­tended his loan spell days be­fore City de­cided to re­call him.

Else­where, in-form League Two side Northamp­ton Town have brought in winger Lee Martin from Mill­wall.

Martin, who has made 11 ap­pear­ances this sea­son, joins the Cob­blers on a onemonth loan.
