PIGOTT’S ON BOARD AT HATTERS

LUTON Town fought off competition to secure Joe Pigott’s signature and boss Nathan Jones believes the signing is a coup for the club.

The 22-year-old striker turned down rival offers to join the Hatters on loan from Charlton Athletic until the end of the season.

“I said I’d like to bring in someone of Joe’s ilk, but he had a number of offers,” explained Jones.

“So it is a bit of a coup for the club.We’re looking for players who can take us forward, and we believe Joe can do that.”
