FOREST FIND REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL
ONE chance. One goal. There’s a reason Odion Ighalo has scored 14 times in the Premier League this season.
The deadly Nigerian is a maestro at seizing even the slimmest of pickings and was never going to spurn a gift as enticing as the one served up by Kelvin Wilson.
What the centre-back was doing, only he can say, but Wilson can at least console himself that he isn’t the only man to blame. Had Dexter Blackstock attacked Chris Cohen’s cross with a little more conviction, the Reds would already have been a goal up.
Errors aside, this was a display that offered yet more evidence of Forest’s increasing resilience under Dougie Freedman. Solid, disciplined, diligent – the Premier League side failed to create a single clear-cut opportunity.
The unbeaten run may be over but the confidence it instilled should remain intact. If Forest can replicate this kind of fortitude on a weekly basis, the play-offs may not be the ‘impossibility’ Freedman claims.
