LEEDS SAY BAMBA ‘IS OUR MAN’

-

STEVE EVANS insists he has not heard of any bids for Leeds captain Sol Bamba amid reported interest from the Premier League.

Newcastle United and Sunderland are believed to be in the market for the 31-year-old defender who arrived at Elland Road from Palermo last summer following a loan spell.

Evans, who has signed Toumani Diagouraga from Brentford, believes reports of suitors are no more than media conjecture.

“Sol’s our captain and he does that job with real professionalism,” said the former Rotherham boss.

“I’m not aware of any bids in this window but I can’t stop speculation.”
