WARD SET TO STAY ON

ROTHERHAM United are close to securing an extension of Grant Ward’s loan from Tottenham, according to manager Neil Redfearn.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who had a spell with Coventry towards the end of last season, joined the Millers on a six-month deal in July.

“We want to keep him,” said Redfearn.“Spurs like the idea that he’s developing with us. He’s coming on.

“He’s developing into a real asset and a top-class player.

“It’s just sorting out the fine details of the agreement.

“Spurs have been good with us. The sooner we can sort it out, the more settled Grant can be.”
