GRANT’S BACK TO ENJOY HIMSELF
GRANT Holt is back at League One side Rochdale a decade after leaving the club and the striker has warned supporters to expect a different player this time around.
Holt enjoyed a productive two-year spell at Spotland before leaving for Nottingham Forest in 2006 and went on to feature for Norwich City in the Premier League.
After an injury-hit spell with Wigan Athletic – featuring loan moves to Aston Villa, Huddersfield Town and Wolves – he has returned to Rochdale as a free agent until the end of the season and Holt is ready to simply start enjoying his football.
“I just want to get out there, play football and enjoy it – I’ve been waiting to do that for nearly two years,” said the 34-yearold.
“It’s good to be back and everyone seems to be pleased that I’m back. They’ll probably see a different Grant Holt to ten years ago. I’m a cleverer player than I was but I would probably run a bit more back then!
“The last ten years have taught me quite a lot and I’m hoping I can use that to help everyone here.”
