RIDDLE OF BAXTER’S NEW BAN
SHEFFIELD United have suspended forward Jose Baxter for the second time in nine months.
The former Everton trainee, 24, was handed a five-month ban by the FA in July, with the final three months suspended, after failing an out-of-competition drugs test in May. Traces of ecstasy were found in his system.
Baxter, who has scored 20 goals in 93 appearances for the Blades, had vowed to repay the club’s faith but has been suspended for a second time, with Sheffield United not revealing the reason for the decision. “Procedures are being followed,” said a statement.
