BURY ARE SHAKENBY TAX GRAB
BURY chairman Stewart Day has questioned HMRC’s decision to take them to court after a winding-up order was dismissed this week.
The Shakers were in court over a £156,000 tax bill, but, with that having been paid, the petition was dismissed, though Bury have been ordered to pay costs for the hearing.
Day said:“I know HMRC are very strict on sporting organisations.
“There was an administration error, and it was paid in full about seven days late.
“But HMRC wanted to try to take it down a legal route, which is a bit frustrating.”
