WALSALL DUO GET PRO DEAL REWARD
AFGHANISTAN-BORN midfielder Qamaruddin Maziar Kouhyar has vowed to repay the faith shown by Walsall after signing his first professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old this week signed a deal with the Saddlers, along with fellow youth product Jordan Sangha, who is also 18 and joined the club at the age of eight, as the Saddlers look to the future.
Kouhyar joined Walsall back in 2013, having been let go by Coventry, and after two years in the scholarship programme has been rewarded with a professional contract.
And now that he’s earned the deal, he admits the pressure is on to show that he deserved the opportunity.
“When I was offered the deal I was really happy, very emotional,” he said.
“I need to put even more effort in.This has to be my life now. I’ve put all this work in to get to pro, now I need to take it to the next level.”
Sangha added: “I’m buzzing to have signed my contract. I’ve played at Walsall for ten years and I’ve finally got a pro deal.
“My aim is to get in and around the first-team.”
