ALLEN JOY AS JAMIE STAYS PUT

BARNET boss Martin Allen expressed his delight at Jamie Stephens signing a new deal with the club, adamant the goalkeeper has a bright future.

Stephens joined the Bees in the summer after being released by Newport County, and ahead of this weekend had made 26 appearances.

And the 22-year-old is set to be a fixture at Barnet for some time yet after penning a new two-year deal with the club.

“He’s grown in confidence and he’s grown in stature,” Allen said.

“It’s a great move to get this young goalkeeper signed up, with an option to extend after that.”
