FINN BACK TO GIVE DAVIS LIFT

CREWE Alexandra manager Steve Davis insists the return from injury of Lauri Dalla Valle is like a new signing for the strugglers.

Finnish striker Dalla Valle scored three goals in Crewe’s final five games last season, to keep them in League One, but the 24year-old has seen his current campaign ruined by an ankle injury picked up in November.

“As a kid, he’s been prolific, wherever he’s been, and I think he can score at any level,” Davis said.

“He perseveres and keeps getting into positions.

“It’s good to have him back.

“Lauri will rely on his natural instincts to be in the right place at the right time.”
