MEITE WILL NOT RUSH
READING boss Jaap Stam says he will look after Yakou Meite following his operation on Monday – despite the striker’s eagerness to get back playing.
Meite, 20, has been out with damaged ligaments, but, after having his appendix removed, he could take a further six games to return to full fitness.
“It is very disappointing for him because he is very eager to play,” said Stam.
“We want to use him because he has qualities. He is strong, he is quick and a good finisher. It would be great to have him in the squad – but we need to take it easy with him.”
