HE HAD an excellent career as a player and now Jimmy Bullard is set to take his first steps in management with Non-League Leatherhead.

The 37-year-old former Peterborough, Wigan, Fulham, Hull, Ipswich Town and MK Dons midfielder has been appointed manager of Ryman Premier Division strugglers Leatherhead.

Tanners chairman Richard Brady said: “This will be his first appointment as a manager – a career he is passionate about pursuing.

“Jimmy has gained a wealth of experience about a variety of management and coaching techniques as a player and is looking to bring the best of these experiences to Leatherhead, coupled with a very clear philosophy in terms of how he wishes his team to play.”
