TROLLOPE CALLS FOR POSITIVE REACTION

-

CARDIFF City’s head coach Paul Trollope wants his players to use the pressure they are under to fuel better performances and move up the league.

Pressure has been growing on the players, and Trollope himself, after a poor start to the Bluebirds’ season. They had won just one of their first seven league games ahead of this weekend.

Trollope, who took over from Russell Slade in May, apologised to fans on Tuesday night after losing 3-0 to Preston but said the squad were fully focused on turning their form around.

“We need to turn that pressure into a positive feeling,” he said.

“There are probably four or five Championship teams in the bottom half with greater expectations, ourselves being one of them. You have to look at yourself and get your own house in order and that’s our focus.

“We’ve got some business to put right after a disappointing couple of weeks, making sure we’re fresh, we play with hunger, a big desire and we’re tactically ready as well.”
